Crash Trilogy Will Apparently Run in 4K at 60FPS on PS4 and PC

Last year, the Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy was unveiled at E3, with a PlayStation 4 release slated for this year. Since then, there has been plenty of speculation about whether the remaster would appear on other platforms, and now there’s been a further twist in the tale.

The N Sane Trilogy was shown at PAX East this past weekend, with representatives guiding players through a demo. Now, a video has appeared on Twitter that seems to suggest that the game will end up on both the PlayStation 4 and the PC.

“It’s 4K on PS4 and PC, at 60 frames per second,” says the representative assigned to a row of televisions that are being used to play the game. While it’s certainly possible that the rep might have been misinformed, we’ve already seen some compelling evidence that suggests that the game isn’t a PlayStation 4 exclusive.

Last month, the PlayStation Ireland Twitter account responded to a question from a fan asking whether the game was an exclusive, stating that it was. Days later, the account posted another tweet, clarifying that the trilogy would be coming to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro first.

These tweets would certainly make a lot more sense if Activision was planning to bring the trilogy to PC at a later date. It’s easy to see why the publisher might pursue this strategy — even given the character’s history with the PlayStation brand, the trilogy might struggle to find an audience if it’s a console exclusive, while a PC port would make it much easier for the project to recoup its development costs.

Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy is scheduled to launch for the PlayStation 4 on June 30, 2017.
