The hype just keeps on building for Arc System Works’ Dragon Ball FighterZ, and a new teaser trailer for the game gives fans a sneak peak at what they can expect from the title’s single-player mode. The brief but exciting tease gives us a look at ‘Forbidden Story,’ which features all of the game’s cast as well as a brand-new original character, whose creation was supervised by Akira Toriyama himself.
This isn’t the first time that we’ve seen the army of evil-looking Super Saiyan Goku and other dark versions of characters making an appearance, but the trailer does show new footage of the recently-revealed Android 21 and her relationship with returning fan-favorite Android 16. It seems that the two semi-mechanical individuals will play a big role in the Dragon Ball FighterZ storyline, though it’s too early to tell exactly what that role is.
One thing that’s certain about the upcoming Dragon Ball-inspired fighting game is that Arc System is making a beautiful work as ever. Everything we’ve seen for the developer’s newest project has looked stunning, from animated cutscenes in the trailer to the core gameplay itself, and seeing their favorite characters brought to life like this has got the DBZ community excited for more.
In other recent Dragon Ball FighterZ news, Arc System Works and Bandai Namco have released another brief gameplay teaser for the upcoming fighting game, featuring Namekian warrior Piccolo. The trailer is painfully short but serves as yet another character reveal in a roster that is beginning to feel significantly full.
With sixteen characters, plus an additional two support characters, now being announced for Dragon Ball FighterZ, it’s hard to tell just how many more combatants will be joining the cast. While the current size might prove enough for a fighter at launch, the three-on-three format might see players getting tired of seeing the same characters time after time. With that in mind, we’ve got some thoughts on who the next FighterZ reveal should be.
