Update: EA has said in an email blast that UFC 2 and Mirror’s Edge Catalyst will hit EA Access in November, with Star Wars Battlefront arriving in December.
Original report: EA Access, the £20 a year subscription game service for Xbox One, will expand its games Vault with three new major releases later this year, EA has announced.
On the way before the year is out are UFC 2, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst and Star Wars Battlefront, which will no doubt easily outdo the free game offerings from both PlayStation Plus and Games With Gold over the coming months.
The upcoming EA Access releases were revealed alongside news that a range of Xbox Live Arcade games has entered the Vault under the title of the Throwback Pack:
- Heavy Weapon
- Bejeweled 2
- Bejeweled 3
- Feeding Frenzy
- Feeding Frenzy 2
EA Access members can also experience 10 hours of Battlefield One via a Play First Trial beginning October 13.
And don’t forget that new members can also dive into every game previously added to the Vault, something PS Plus and Games With Gold don’t allow – you must have been a member when the free game was released in order to access it.
This means for as little as £3.99 a month you can play many of EA’s major Xbox One releases, with a growing list of Xbox 360 titles too.
Vault titles include:
- Need for Speed
- PVZ Gardem Warfare 2
- FIFA 16
- Dragon Age Inquisition
- NHL 16
- Rory McIlroy PGA Tour
- Peggle 2
Given EA Access is not available on PS4, the subscription should be seen as a major selling point of the Xbox One.
