Fallout 4 may be about a year and a half old, but the modding community is still finding ways to keep the Bethesda RPG fresh and exciting. The latest creation gives players the chance to share their settlement creation blueprints with the rest of the Fallout 4 community.
The settlement feature was one of the most exciting additions in Fallout 4 and the creative toolkit has grown in power and scope thanks to both official Bethesda DLC and unofficial mods. Players have created everything from Bioshock-themed settlements to fancy multi-tier apartment buildings using the game’s settlement creation tools. So far, the only way to share these creations has been with screenshots or gameplay streams. Now there’s a mod that makes it much easier to share settlement creations with other players.
The Transfer Settlements mod allows players to export their settlement creations and offer the blueprints to other players. This means that if creators are kind enough to share, you can add some amazing features to your own settlements without any of the painstaking architecture planning.
Here’s a demo of the mod in action…
Once the mod is installed, players can export their settlement creations as blueprints. These blueprints can then be shared with the rest of the community. Using the mod is actually fairly simple once it is installed from NexusMods…
“After installing the mod you will receive a holotape to your inventory called [Settings] Transfer Settlements which you will often find under the submenu “Setting Holotapes” without the holotape itself having the [Settings] prefix if you’re using item sorting mods. It is also craftable at Chemistry Stations under the Utility section. All features this mod offers are available through this single holotape.”
This opens up a whole new collaborative aspect to the Fallout 4 settlement creation process, so we look forward to seeing what the community comes up with now that they are equipped with this powerful new tool.
