Thursday’s episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” focused on Amelia’s (Caterina Scorsone) pregnancy or so she thought. By the end of the show, she found out that she was not expecting a child. The news of having a kid was expected to come as a shock to Owen (Kevin McKidd) who thought he would be terrible as a father. He was asked to babysit Harriet but Owen had troubles calming the crying baby and putting her to sleep.
The couple both sit down and did a pregnancy test which came out negative. The disappointment was obvious from the looks on their faces, but Owen gave Amelia the assurance that they can always try again. For the next episode, fans can expect that showrunners will not incorporate the real-life pregnancy of Scorsone but rather try to hide her baby bump as the show progresses. That could be easy to do as she would always be seen wearing loose lab gowns in most scenes.
Two months ago, it was reported that Scorsone was conceiving her second child with hubby Rob Giles. She, however, dismissed reports that her pregnancy will also be included in the storyline of the show.
“I don’t think so. We’re picking up the season immediately after we left off, which was the wedding where Amelia was not pregnant,” Scorsone said. She also admitted that it would be “challenging” for her to shoot the show during her pregnancy.
