Mass Effect: Andromeda Gives Sara Ryder Her Own Trailer

Now that Mass Effect: Andromeda is finally out in the wild, BioWare has decided to promote the science fiction title even further by releasing a brand new trailer that puts its female co-protagonist Sara Ryder at the forefront of the action. Since fans have been given a good gander of what it would be like to take on the role of the Pathfinder as her twin brother Scott Ryder in a plethora of different gameplay videos, it seems as if the studio is keen on reminding fans of their options in customizing the title’s main character.

As found in the latest Mass Effect: Andromeda trailer below, Sara Ryder is seen in a variety of scenarios, including, but not limited to, taking command of the Tempest ship, engaging in some gunplay, finding romance, and, of course, exploring the mysteries of the Andromeda Galaxy. Not to mention, the clip even features Sara Ryder fighting in some hand-to-hand combat against one of the science fiction shooter’s foes.

BioWare’s resolution to release a Mass Effect: Andromeda trailer with Sara Ryder as the highlight will likely catch fans’ attention immediately, for as of late, the character has been smack dab in the middle of a controversy relating to the way the studio handled the game’s animations. To be specific, many players who spent time with Andromeda during its Early Access period discovered a lot of awkward-looking facial animations, which have also been prevalent in the launch version of the game.

The situation has been discussed at length by many Mass Effect: Andromeda fans, and it eventually led to one player sleuthing around online to find out whether or not BioWare actually used the game’s day one patch to alter Sara Ryder’s face. In fact, the launch of Andromeda has been so rife with contention among members of the gaming community that some have even equated the situation to the disagreements fans had over the ending to ME3, which was heated, to say the least.

All things considered, it seems unlikely that BioWare’s latest Mass Effect: Andromeda trailer starring Sara Ryder was made to intentionally stir the proverbial hornet’s nest of fans buzzing to lambaste the studio for its work on the game. Then again, the developer could be using the latest piece of footage as an attempt to capitalize on the criticism it’s receiving by putting itself directly in the middle of the scuffle with an indirect reference to the situation at hand. As the old maxim goes, “There’s no such thing as bad publicity.”

Mass Effect: Andromeda is out now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
