PS4 Bundles Getting Price Drop at the End of the Month

As many gaming fans are likely aware, Sony is still riding high in regards to its successes related to moving PS4 consoles, as the company confirmed just a couple of months ago that system sales have soared past 50 million units worldwide. Now, it seems as if Sony is aiming to move even more consoles by planning to implement a limited time price drop that will only be available for select bundle packages of the PS4 Slim at the end of this month.

The news of Sony’s plans to provide a discount on certain PS4 bundles comes from an official blog post from the company, with the tech firm declaring that the price drop is set to take place from February 15 through February 25. With this being the case, fans will soon be able to snatch up both the Uncharted 4 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare PS4 bundles for $250 a piece, which is $50 cheaper than their original costs.

For those unaware, Sony’s Uncharted 4 PS4 bundle contains a console with a 500 GB hard drive and a copy of Naughty Dog’s latest entry in its long-running action-adventure franchise. The Infinite Warfare bundle, on the other hand, similarly features a 500 GB system, a copy of Activision and Infinity Ward’s first-person shooter, but also has a download code for Modern Warfare Remastered.

In addition to the two aforementioned PS4 console bundles being included in Sony’s forthcoming price drop, the Walmart-exclusive glacier white Infinite Warfare PS4 bundle is also going to be a part of the deal. As it happens, this specific PS4 bundle that’s available only at Walmart will include all of the features of the standard Infinite Warfare package mentioned above, but the system itself is going to be colored white instead of black, and it will come with a matching controller as well.

Interestingly, Sony didn’t provide a reason as to why it plans to reduce the cost of its PS4 bundles at the end of February, with the company typically reserving such price drops for consumer holidays like Black Friday, where it offered similar markdowns on its systems packaged with games. Of course, with Sony’s CFO Kenichiro Yoshida recently stating in the company’s latest earnings report that the new PlayStation 4 Pro is selling better than the PS4 Slim, it’s quite possible that the tech firm is attempting to balance the scales between the sales of its two recently released PS4 variants.

Sony’s PS4 Slim bundle price drops are set to begin on February 15, 2017, and end on February 25, 2017.
